You control the difficulty curve with how you play. No panic increases = no difficulty increases. For a fresh region, this means you can prevent all panic from developing. ZITs and hazmat etc are intended to be killed with items. Then, when they open the first lab, you already have access to everywhere and infect that territory to deaths door so research is slow, or, if you can, just destroy the region and burn whatever items and zombie summoning you need to do it. Meaning you have earned much more money from levels and completing objectives, and the game difficulty hasn't increased at all. If you use your items and spawn extra zombies to kill the everyone on each map for the first infection level, you can nearly prevent continent panic and global panic from rising at all. If you keep trying to infect a single continent, at then start failing at higher infection levels, you will add tons and tons of panic and make the game impossible. Level the common zombie, infect everything to level 1. Most of it has been said - items are there for you to use them.
The game has very clear mechanics you must exploit to get far. I know that ZIT spawns after I put 3 burgers and 2 goo on the ground, so I can put Kruger, switch to mines and have fun with them. Use keybindings after you have a winning combo with items + zombies.Į.g. Use swarm zombies like the Biker or other to spawn a lot of zombies fast. This way of starting allows you to start in the most crowded of places and create local horde very quickly (or just in time for ZIT to die from mines). Burgers pull people to one spot, goo and carnisters kills them spawning zombies. Goben is the spongiest tank zombie in the game.ĭon't start the battle with the infection thingy, but with a couple of burgers followed by goo and carnisters in one place. Get a proper tanky zombie to tank a couple of hits. Invest in defence stat - I maxed it out 1st after I got to mid/late game. The basic zombie should be your priority.
Upgrade the zombies you use the most and the basic zombie. My loadout on each normal infection was 3 Carnisters, 3 Burgers, 3 Goo and 3 Mines/Grenades depending on the missions (though mines are better - cheaper and can kill whole ZIT squad in one go).
